A major new outdoor attraction is on the way for Campbelltown, with construction now underway on the Kanbyugal Parklands Mountain Bike Park in Woodbine.
Set to transform an underused space into a lively recreation hub, the project will deliver more than 8.3km of riding track across 13 new trails for beginners through to advanced riders, along with upgrades to existing tracks and a dedicated extreme riding area.
Mayor Darcy Lound said the project would create a fresh reason for locals to get outside and stay active.
“This is going to be a fantastic new space for our community, giving residents of all ages a fun and active way to spend time outdoors right in our city,” he said.
The $1.5 million-plus project is being backed by the NSW Government and Campbelltown City Council, with Greg Warren describing it as a strong sign of ongoing local investment.
“This project will see Campbelltown’s first mountain bike track with an investment of over $1.5 million in partnership with Campbelltown City Council,” he said.
When complete, the park is expected to become a drawcard not just for locals, but for riders from across the wider Macarthur region.
As Lound put it, “This project is a great investment in an outdoor recreation space that will create a destination for people from all over the Macarthur region to enjoy and utilise.”
The Kanbyugal Parklands Mountain Bike Park is due for completion by late 2026.
