Camden Village is set for another year of events, promotions and initiatives after Spirit of Camden secured $120,000 through the NSW Government’s Uptown Grant Program for the second consecutive year.

Chair of Spirit of Camden Matt Glynn said the renewed funding was a significant vote of confidence in the work already underway to build Camden Village as a destination.

“We are incredibly excited to receive Uptown Grant funding for Camden Village for a second year,” he said.

“Over the past year we have started building something that is much bigger than any one event or promotion – it is about businesses, community organisations and local people working together to celebrate Camden and give people more reasons to visit, stay longer and experience everything our town has to offer.”

The funding will support a packed program over the coming year, including Spring into Camden Village, Op Shop Hop, Christmas shopping events, Village Gatherings and the SPINOUT Rock and Roll Festival.

District Coordinator Melissa Musgrave said the grant would allow Spirit of Camden to build on the momentum already created across the town centre.

“This funding gives us the opportunity to build on that momentum through projects including Spring into Camden Village, Op Shop Hop, our Christmas shopping activities, Village Gatherings and SPINOUT Rock and Roll Festival,” she said.

Camden Village is one of 41 districts across 15 Local Government Areas receiving funding through Round 4 of the Uptown Grant Program, delivered by the NSW Government through the Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner.

The program aims to bring businesses and communities together, strengthen local precinct identities and encourage more people to visit, explore and spend time in town centres.

Musgrave said growing local involvement would remain central to Spirit of Camden’s plans.

“Most importantly, we want more people to be part of what we are creating,” she added.

“We encourage local businesses, community groups and individuals who care about the future of Camden to join Spirit of Camden and help us continue building a vibrant, welcoming and connected Camden Village.”

Spirit of Camden will continue working with local businesses and community partners under the shared Camden Village identity to increase visitation, participation and engagement across the historic township.
