A night of retro music, bright colours and nostalgic fun has delivered a major boost for local young people, with Youth Solutions raising more than $75,000 at its annual charity fundraiser.

The recent “Rewind to the ’90s” Annual Charity Event attracted strong community support as guests embraced the decade’s iconic fashion and music while raising funds for Youth Solutions’ drug and alcohol prevention, health promotion and wellbeing programs across Macarthur and Wingecarribee.

Youth Solutions Chief Executive Geraldine Dean said every dollar raised would directly support young people aged 12 to 25 through education, outreach and prevention programs.

“The fantastic funds raised will enable us to deliver workshops and programs to more young people, offer outreach services, bolster our resources and continue delivering what is needed to help our young people feel safe, supported and informed,” she said.

Dean added that the event also reflected the community’s commitment to investing in the next generation.

“Young people are the next generation of community leaders, and we need to do everything we can to support them on that journey,” she said.

Event coordinator and Youth Solutions’ Manager of Marketing & Engagement, Amanda Dillon, praised the generosity of local businesses, volunteers and attendees who helped make the evening a success.

“Our fundraising events bring out the best in our community,” she said.

Dillon said sponsors, prize donors, volunteers and supporters all played a vital role in ensuring the annual event continued to make a meaningful difference for local young people.
