The 15th annual Oaks Christmas Night last Saturday was one of the biggest yet, as crowds came out to celebrate the season with fellow locals from around Wollondilly.
“It was a great night, so good to finally be back after fires and covid, there was so much happening, and it looked like all the locals from the surrounding towns came in to enjoy the night,” event organiser Sharon Robertson said.
With over 30 markets stall and a food court area, people were out to score a Christmas bargain before dinner.
For the kids, there were the mandatory rides, Wollondilly Council’s Library bus, the Dilly Wanderer, lots of their favourite characters, and of course Santa.
Some very talented rising stars entertained on stage from Vocalise Academy, Centre Stage Dance Studio and The Oaks Public School, before Monkey’s Uncle took the show well past sundown.
President of The Oaks Christmas Night committee Hilton Gibbs, said, “I would like to thank the community of The Oaks and surrounding areas for the fantastic turnout for our event at Dudley Chesham Oval, the event has been running for 18 years but we have had a hiatus of 3 years due to fires and the pandemic with our last event being in 2018.”
Ms Gibbs also thanked the evening’s sponsors Wollondilly Shire Council, United Realty – Acreage & Property Marketing and Residential & Prestige, Community Bank Picton & District and The Oaks Hotel.
