Camden Council should be proud of itself. Its latest initiative supporting local and emerging artists by hosting the first ever Camden Art Sale is a h-u-g-e community win!

The inaugural event at Camden Civic Centre from Friday 10 to 17 June will give artists the chance to sell their work and shoppers the chance to pick up a beautiful piece for their home.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said the event would be a celebration of art as we emerge from recent challenging times.

“It’s no secret the past few years have been hard on many people, and the long string of lockdowns, weather events and flooding have affected our creative community as well,” Cr Fedeli said.

“We have so many amazingly talented people living in our community, and it is important to give them their chance to showcase their works and help them get their names and faces out there in the community.

Established and emerging artists from the Macarthur region will be displaying up to three works each, that were completed since the first lockdown in March 2020.

“Council is determined to foster and support our local artists and creative community and hosting the Camden Art Sale is a step in the right direction. I can’t wait to see what beautiful pieces our residents will add to their homes!” Cr Fedeli said.
