Camden Council’s new General Manager, Andrew Carfield, takes over at an exciting time for the LGA.
“The Camden area continues to be one of the fastest growing in the country, welcoming more than 100 new residents every week. We’re the beating heart of the Macarthur region and have some truly incredible things to accomplish for our residents – current and future,” Mayor of Camden, Therese Fedeli, said.
“I know I speak on behalf of the Councillors when I say we’re looking forward to building a strong working relationship with our new General Manager.”
Mr Carfield has over 28 years of experience in local government, having held a number of senior executive roles at Sutherland Shire Council and Wollongong City Council.
He brings a wealth of experience to Camden across a wide range of Council services including urban planning, economic development, infrastructure planning and delivery and strategic financial management.
Cr Fedeli said the new appointment comes as Camden farewells its General Manager of almost 10 years, Ron Moore.
“Ron joined Camden Council in March 2013, at a time the organisation and the area was experiencing phenomenal growth and change,” she said.
“From day one, Ron’s commitment to working in partnership with Councillors, the organisation
and the community has been outstanding. It’s been terrific working with him and we wish him, and his family, all the best in retirement.”
Mr Carfield holds a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning, a Master of Urban Policy and Strategy and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
“It is a privilege to join Camden Council and lead the organisation through this critical period,” he said.
“This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work with the elected Council, staff and all levels of government to support the growing Camden community, shape the local government area and continue to provide services to a standard the community expects.”
Andrew Carfield will commence as Camden Council’s General Manager in late November 2022.
