Camden Council has placed its Draft Operational Plan, Budget and Long-Term Financial Plan on public exhibition, outlining a $373.1 million budget focused on major infrastructure, essential services and long-term growth.
The draft budget includes 11 major projects worth $132 million through the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program, including the $23.1 million John Street Public Domain Upgrade and Activation project, road upgrades across Leppington, improvements to Camden Valley Way and Liz Kernohan Drive, new sporting facilities and the recently reopened Camden Civic Centre after a $9.9 million transformation.
Mayor Therese Fedeli said the plans would help shape Camden’s future.
“These draft plans outline how we will continue to deliver the infrastructure, services and facilities our community needs, while planning for Camden’s future as one of the fastest-growing areas in NSW,” she said.
Key local projects include the $14 million Cut Hill Reserve Sports Field Redevelopment and Stage 1 of The Crest Open Space and Learn to Ride Facility, which will bring new cycling infrastructure, shared pathways, amenities and landscaped open space.
“This is about responsible financial management, long-term planning and delivering real outcomes for our residents,” Fedeli said.
