In a room overflowing with the spirit of goodness and community care, Campbelltown City Council paid tribute to over 1,000 volunteers at its annual Gift of Time ceremony.

To be precise 1035 volunteers, from across 51 community organisations and services who have collectively given up more than 21,000 hours of their time throughout the year.

“This year’s award winners represent a diverse range of organisations that includes school organisations, charity groups, emergency services, sports and fitness organisations, veterans groups, library programs and more,” Mayor of Campbelltown George Greiss said.

“Being a volunteer means you are not only there to run an event or program on the day, but also doing a lot of preparation and admin beforehand.

“Congratulations to all of this year’s award winners, it’s a well-deserved acknowledgment of your hard work.”

Each organisation was recognised and their representative presented an award certificate from the Mayor in the presence of Deputy Mayor Masood Khalil and Councillors John Chew and Meg Oates.

State Member for Campbelltown Greg Warren thanked the volunteers for so generously giving up their valuable time and doing so much to make our community a better place.
