Preparations are in top gear for the Multicultural Festival to be held on Saturday 24th September at the Campbelltown Athletics Stadium.

Organised by the Multicultural Society of Campbelltown, the festival promises a day full of cultural entertainment and food, stalls, sporting activities and art competitions for children.

Enam Hoque, the Society’s President, is happy that the Festival can finally return after a two year hiatus brought on by COVID.

“It is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate our diversity”, Mr Hoque said.

The Society’s General Secretary Md Shafiqul Alam Shafique is looking forward to the continuous live performances on stage.

“The colourful costumes, lovely music and exciting dances representing our different cultures will be a real treat for everyone,” Mr Shafique said.

He pointed out that one of the main benefits of multiculturism is that it encourages open-mindedness among different groups of people and dispels negative sterotypes.

With that in mind, the Multicultural Society of Campbelltown will continue to organise this Festival annually.

The Festival on September 24th will go from 10am to 10pm with an official ceremony around 1pm. A bevy of politicians from all levels of Government are expected to visit the Festival after sundown.
