Camden Council offers residents a great way to celebrate NAIDOC Week from home from tomorrow, July 6.
“NAIDOC Week is about acknowledging the ancient history of our beautiful country and that is no different in the Camden area,” Mayor of Camden Therese Fedeli said.
“This provides our young families a great opportunity to sit together and talk about the history of our great nation and how valuable and important it is to our existence.”
A range of online activities celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people includes:
- Online Mayoral Message – Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli will share her NAIDOC message to the community on her official Facebook page on Tuesday 6 July;
- Online social media campaign – ‘Did you know’ facts sharing Camden’s Indigenous history and statistics;
- #camdenNAIDOC – Residents can share how they celebrate NAIDOC Week at home by using the hashtag; and,
- Sharing ways to celebrate NAIDOC in lockdown including colouring-in poster, online homemade bush bread tutorials, make your own playdough in red, yellow and black, send through your song suggestions to help us put together a NAIDOC special Spotify Playlist and ABC Kids Indigenous lullaby online program.
