Campbelltown’s Community Recycling Centre is turning four, and marking the milestone with a community challenge that rewards residents for doing the right thing.

From Saturday 11 April to Saturday 18 April 2026, locals can take part in a passport-style recycling challenge for the chance to win one of four $200 Bunnings vouchers.

Over the past four years, the CRC has become a key part of the city’s sustainability efforts, with more than 15,000 visitors during the recent summer period alone and almost 900 tonnes of waste diverted from landfill.

Mayor of Campbelltown Darcy Lound said the centre had become much more than a collection point.

“The CRC is more than just a free drop off point. Since opening, it has supported the community to safely dispose of household problem waste,” he said.

Residents can collect a recycling passport card from the CRC, local libraries, Campbelltown City Council Civic Centre, or community activations, then earn stamps by dropping off eligible problem waste.

Batteries count as a double entry, and four stamps secures entry into the prize draw.

The campaign is also a reminder to clear out items that do not belong in household bins, including batteries, paint, oils and electronics.

Lound praised the community’s long-term commitment to the service, saying, “Thanks to the efforts of our residents, the Centre has diverted almost 900 tonnes of waste from landfill, making a significant contribution to a cleaner and more sustainable Campbelltown.”

He said the birthday week was both a celebration and an invitation.

“Whether you’re a regular visitor or have never been before, this is the perfect opportunity to get involved and experience what the CRC has to offer,” Lound added.
