Embark on a cultural journey in the centre of Camden!
Council’s Culture Club is once more shining a bright spotlight on diverse cultures this month, and with only two more sessions left to attend, these are events not to be missed.
On Friday 22nd and 29th April, 6 – 9 pm, Camden’s Alan Baker Art Gallery will showcase an impressive suite of local artists, featuring live art installations, live music, dance performances, and makers’ markets.
Attendees will be treated to Makers’ Market stalls featuring Richard J Bell, Studio B and Cobbitty Gallery, live art installations by artists Belle Mitchell, Michael Fardon and Melissa Barton, live music including a saxophone performance, dance performances, drinks and desserts by The House of Art as well as a ‘Life, Love and Light’ exhibition.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, encourages everyone to get involved to celebrate the diversity of culture in Camden.
“Camden is home to so many talented artists in several fields and it has been fantastic to be able to shine the spotlight on them through Camden Culture Club,” Cr Fedeli said.
“In celebration of Multicultural March, and with the support of the Cohesive Communities Advisory Committee, each event has had multicultural themes explored through all the activities and performances on the night”.
“The first event had an Indian theme and, as you can imagine, the dancing and the music was just amazing. The second event had a Mediterranean theme and, as an Italian myself, I will have to be biased and say the food was incredible!”
Tickets are free and are available at trybooking.com/BXIYH.
Ticketholders will receive a complimentary drink, tasting box by Back Galley Cafe and dessert by The House of Art. Get in quick – tickets are selling out fast.
Tickets for Friday 29th April are available from 11 am on Saturday 23rd April.
