The DOV is a multi-agency awareness campaign lead by the Campbelltown City Council in conjunction with Campbelltown City Police Area Command. The DOV Convoy is a sub-committee of the Campbelltown Domestic Violence Committee. The DOV Convoy consists of agencies from multiple government and non-government organization, including non-for-profit and local businesses. The signifying factor for the DOV Convoy is the white dove, which is an international symbol of peace.
The DOV Convoy aims to bring an awareness of domestic and family violence to the wider community by sharing a positive message of prevention and education.
The DOV Convoy will run a large vehicle convoy with multiple stops, culminating with a large community event at Koshigaya Park.
The DOV Convoy engages all levels of the community and will partake in speeches and performances that educate and inspire the wider community at each stop.
The DOV Convoy provides statistics and the impacts of Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) with the aim to educate and arm the community with the knowledge and confidence to speak up and take action!
Service providers trained in all aspects of DFV attend and will engage with the community.
A DOV pledge has been created for the community and organisations to join in taking at each stop of the convoy.
