Evzones honour Camden ANZACS
It was a very special Anzac Day in Camden when the Evzones took part in a wreath laying ceremony to commemorate all the Anzacs who served in Greece.
“The significance to me is one of mateship, they’re still keeping in touch with their Australian mates”, said John Tsekas of Macarthur Greeks.
Many Anzacs who came from Camden Park, Cobbitty and Bowral are actually still buried over in Greece or in Crete.
“We are the only town outside of the Sydney metropolitan area that actually had the privilege to bring the Presidential Guards here,” said Con Diomis of Macarthur Greeks.
The Evzones represent close to 3,000 years of Greek Military history.
