Campbelltown’s young voices are being handed the mic and they’re ready to be heard.
From podcasting workshops to spoken pain poetry and “living stories” writing sessions, a vibrant lineup of events will headline this year’s NSW Youth Week celebrations across Campbelltown, running from April 16 to 26.
At the heart of it all is a simple but powerful call: Dream. Dare. Do.
“Youth Week is a chance for us to celebrate the young people in our community… by bringing them together and providing great opportunities to connect,” Mayor Darcy Lound said.
Among the standout events is the Youth Amplified Podcast Workshop, a hands-on experience giving young people aged 12 to 24 the tools and confidence to tell their stories.
From shaping ideas to speaking on camera, conducting interviews and creating real content, participants will dive straight into the world of digital storytelling — using nothing more than their phones and their voice.
Led by community changemakers Brian Laul and Ronna Guzman, the workshop builds on the success of the Youth Amplified Podcast, already reaching more than 1.17 million social media views each month.
“Young people… build lasting connections and use these events to kickstart their own goals,” Cr Lound said.
The broader program features the following grant-funded activities:
