Member for Campbelltown Greg Warren is urging local residents to arm themselves against increasingly sophisticated scams, with a free Scams Awareness Workshop to be held later this month.
Hosted by Warren himself in partnership with Westpac and Campbelltown City Council, the session is designed to give locals practical tools to recognise, avoid and respond to scam activity.
“Scams and fraud are a major issue in all our communities across our state but they are particularly prevalent in Campbelltown and they are particularly targeted at some of the most vulnerable people on our community particularly our seniors,” Mr Warren said.
The workshop will feature expert advice from Westpac, breaking down common scam types and red flags.
A Westpac spokesperson said the session will focus on real-world prevention. “The Westpac team will talk about practical steps you can take to avoid scams and being targeted by these scammers,” he said.
The Westpac team will present on common scam types, tips and tricks to protect yourself from scams.
The 2026 Scams Awareness Workshop will be held on Thursday 19 February, from 1pm to 3pm at Campbelltown Civic Hall. Entry is free.
