A major upgrade to Bensley Road Reserve has been officially opened, delivering modern new facilities for one of Campbelltown’s largest sporting clubs.
Mayor Darcy Lound joined Gunners Soccer Club President Gary Phillips, club members and the local community to unveil the new $2.55 million clubhouse and a commemorative plaque celebrating the milestone.
The expanded facility includes modern changerooms, a referee’s room, meeting room, canteen, BBQ area, storage rooms, an outdoor spectator space, as well as new paving and landscaping at the reserve entrance.
Lound said the investment would support the club for years to come.
“Gunners is one of Campbelltown’s biggest sporting clubs, supporting a large number of junior and senior players from Macquarie Fields and surrounding suburbs,” he said.
“This upgrade delivers modern, high-quality facilities that will support the club’s continued growth and provide a more welcoming and accessible environment for players, coaches, officials, volunteers and spectators.”
