Macarthur residents can have their say as Transport for NSW is planning Stage 2 of Spring Farm Parkway to complete the key east-west link between the suburbs of Menangle Park and Spring Farm to support the Greater Macarthur Growth Area.

With Spring Farm Parkway Stage 1 gearing up for major construction in mid-2022, strategic designs have been released for Stage 2, a three kilometre stretch linking Liz Kernohan Drive to Menangle Road, via the new interchange at Hume Motorway.

Member for Camden Peter Sidgreaves said, “This is an important project for the community as it will create a much needed east-west link through the Greater Macarthur Growth Area.

“I urge people to have their say on the plans because this will be an important service road for the communities of Spring Farm, Elderslie, Menangle Park and Mount Gilead while also providing an alternative to Narellan Road.”

The NSW Government has allocated $8 million towards planning and development for the Stage 2 link.

“The Stage 2 link is proposed to be a four lane divided road including, two new bridges over rail lines, shared pedestrian and bicycle paths, drainage, kerb and guttering, improved lighting and traffic lights at two new intersections providing safe access for future land releases,” Mr Sidgreaves said.

Transport will be running a virtual information session on 16 December 2021 from 3-4pm with a Q&A.

The community is invited to provide feedback by February 20, 2021 by calling 1800 325 146 or emailing springfarmparkway2@transport.nsw.gov.au.
