The ‘bull with no name’ has been officially christened.

Last night at the Macarthur FC Experience Store at Macarthur Square, the mascot for Macarthur FC was officially welcomed as Arthur The Bull, the 12th er, man on the team, presented by Macarthur Square.

Over 500 entries were received for a naming competition by members, fans and locals alike throughout last December and 8-year-old Narellan girl, Liana Martins took out the win, earning her a special place in the club’s history.

Liana was overwhelmed with excitement that her suggested name is now adorned on the official Mascot’s jersey above his number, 21. Smiling from ear to ear, she was joined by her elder brother Cooper to officially welcome Arthur to the team.

“Arthur The Bull is as great as they come – he’s determined, energetic and he’s even quite handsome,” said Natalie Matich, General Manager Operations, Macarthur FC.

Born in the Macarthur region, he always puts his team first like our community. With this name, we cannot wait to see his personality develop even more.”

Macarthur Square’s Centre Manager Trevor Hill said that bringing the mascot to life is not only a proud moment for the club but for the Centre Management Team as well.

“It’s great to know that Arthur the Macarthur FC Bull will be seen across the centre and region; we know supporters will love seeing him on the field very soon,” he said.

Arthur of course can’t wait to get out there and hear the fans ringing their cowbells and chanting his name.

He will make his debut at the Macarthur FC v Perth Glory home game on Wednesday 26th Jan, 2022 at Campbelltown Stadium.
