Red Cross Australia’s Emergency Preparedness Week runs until Sunday 25 September and Mayor of Camden Therese Fedeli is reminding residents to protect themselves and their loves ones quite easily by downloading the Get Prepared app.
“Emergencies can strike at anytime, anywhere and without warning and the last few years has confirmed that being prepared getting ready for emergencies is important for communities to strengthen our ability to survive, adapt and thrive,” Cr Fedeli said.
Residents are being encouraged to download the FREE Get Prepared app and create their own emergency plan with this one-stop tool that prepares them for any type of emergency, including:
- Establishing a quick and easy network of support with your three key contacts;
- Reviewing the risks relevant to where you live;
- Creating checklists of actions to make an emergency plan; and
- Saving the emergency plan as a PDF to be printed and shared with others.
