HSC students across Camden are being encouraged to take advantage of free study support programs designed to build confidence ahead of this year’s exams.

Camden Council is hosting two Library Lock-in sessions, giving Year 12 students exclusive after-hours access to quiet study spaces at Oran Park and Narellan libraries, with university representatives available to offer advice on future study and career pathways.

Mayor Therese Fedeli said the initiative was about helping students succeed during one of the biggest milestones of their education.

“The HSC can be both an exciting and challenging time for students, which is why Council is proud to offer programs that provide extra support, guidance and encouragement,” she said.

The support continues with Council’s popular HSC Masterclasses, where experienced tutors will help students strengthen subject knowledge, refine exam techniques and sharpen study skills:

  • English Masterclass on Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 July, 4-6pm;
  • Legal Studies Masterclass on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 July, 4-6pm;
  • Business Studies Masterclass on Wednesday 5 August, 4-6pm; and
  • Modern History Masterclass on Thursday 6 August, 4-6pm.

“Our Library Lock-ins give students access to dedicated study spaces and valuable opportunities to connect with university representatives who can help them plan for life after exams,” Fedeli said.

“I encourage all local HSC students to take advantage of these free opportunities and invest in their success.”

Library Lock-ins will be held on 13 July at Oran Park Library and 23 July at Narellan Library, while HSC Masterclasses run from 20 July to 6 August.
