Nineteen community organisations across Hume will share almost $67,000 in Federal Government funding, giving local volunteers a welcome boost to continue the work they do across the region.
The funding, delivered through the 2025-26 Volunteer Grants program, will help sporting clubs, service organisations, community groups and charities purchase essential equipment and resources.
Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor said the grants provided practical support for the volunteers who help keep local communities connected.
“Volunteers are at the heart of these organisations, but they still need equipment, resources and support to keep operating,” he said.
“These grants will help local groups cover practical costs and ensure volunteers have the tools they need to continue serving the community.”
Among the biggest recipients are Camden Rugby Union Club, receiving $4,109; Menangle Men’s Shed, $4,449; Parish of Picton & Wilton Anglican, $5,000; Camden Falcons, $5,000; and Camden Tigers Football Club, $5,000.
Other successful recipients include Girl Guides Association Camden, Picton Swim Club, Sportz Braves Softball Club, Thirlmere Tahmoor Roosters Junior Rugby League Club, Camden Junior Australian Football Club, Appin Dogs Junior Rugby League, Camden CWA, Rotary Club of Camden, Appin Public School P&C, Wollondilly Razorbacks Basketball Association, Buxton Community Association, Bargo Dingo Sanctuary, Camden Men’s Bowling Club and Lions Club of Camden.
“Congratulations to all 19 successful organisations and thank you to the volunteers who give their time to support others,” Taylor said.
