The development of the M12 Motorway project chalked up a significant milestone as a traffic switch occurred on Elizabeth Drive, directing traffic from the existing road to the new Elizabeth Drive Overpass.

This switch facilitates ongoing construction work on the M12 Motorway, which will offer a direct link to the Western Sydney Airport upon completion.

“It was a privilege to represent the Federal Minister for Infrastructure to mark such an important milestone for the M12 Motorway,” Member for Werriwa Anne Stanley said.

“Our community has grown significantly over the past few years and will soon be home to the new Western Sydney Airport, so it is welcome to see crucial transport infrastructure like the M12 being delivered.”

The Federal Government has pledged $1.6 billion towards the $2 billion project, with the remainder of the funding provided by the NSW Government.

The M12 will serve as a key access route for motorists, bringing an estimated $6.4 billion in economic advantages to both the local community and the national economy.

Completion of the Motorway is anticipated by late 2026, aligning with the opening of the Western Sydney Airport.
