Australia’s favourite festival of pre-loved stuff is coming to Camden this November!

Garage Sale Trail will be taking place over two weekends, where residents will not only be able to sell and shop for pre-loved gems, but also learn about extending the life of their own items.

On the 6th and 7th of November, there will be a number of Trail Tutorial Masterclasses to attend, including:

  • How to DIY your wardrobe, with Daisy Braid;
  • Smart women choose sustainable fashion, hosted by Dr Rebecca Huntley;
  • Make reselling your side hustle;
  • How to host and style your garage sale; and
  • How to host a virtual garage sale.

Virtual Garage Sales, or Community Garage Sales if restrictions allow, will be held on the 13th and 14th of November, then again on the 20th and 21st. It’s free to take part, and sellers will have access to all the tips, support and promotional materials that they need.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, says the Garage Sale Trail will be a great way for the community to keep doing their bit for the environment.

“Council continues to work hard to be environmentally friendly and work with the community to divert waste from landfill,” Cr Fedeli said.

“We all have a number of items in our own homes that we may not use anymore, so why not host a Garage Sale and help save those items from landfill by maximising the value of all the energy and resources that go into making the items we buy.

“This is the circular economy in action and I know our community can help by selling, shopping and learning about it. I encourage residents to join the Garage Sale Trail this year and do your bit for your local environment.”
