The sights, sounds and flavours of cultures from around the world will take over Minto when Feast multicultural festival returns to Redfern Park on Saturday, September 19.
Running from 2pm to 9pm, the popular celebration will feature multicultural food and desserts, traditional music and dance, colourful costumes, children’s activities and a spectacular procession of more than 40 cultural flags representing communities across Campbelltown.
“Feast is a great opportunity for everyone to come together at Redfern Park and experience the many cultures and traditions that make up Campbelltown,” Mayor Darcy Lound said.
Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket or chair and settle in around the centre stage for a packed program of cultural performances, while food and drink vendors serve traditional favourites throughout the afternoon and evening.
“It’s been wonderful to see the support for this event grow each year,” Lound said.
Families will also have plenty to discover, with the popular Children’s Activity Trail returning to the Ron Moore Community Centre.
Activities will include a Mandala Workshop, Japanese bookmark making and traditional toy challenge, Arabian drumming, a Bangladeshi clay workshop, Nawi making, Lollie Lei making, a VR experience and activities presented by Campbelltown Libraries.
