The first look at the new Prestons Ambulance Station has been unveiled, marking another milestone in the NSW Government’s investment to strengthen frontline emergency healthcare across south-west Sydney.
“With capacity for up to 10 ambulances and modern facilities for our hardworking paramedics, this new station will strengthen mobile healthcare across our growing community,” said Member for Leppington Nathan Hagarty.
The purpose-built station will be constructed on Enterprise Circuit, Prestons, as part of the NSW Government’s $615.5 million NSW Ambulance Infrastructure Program.
It will provide a modern base for local paramedics, featuring internal parking for up to 10 emergency ambulances, vehicle wash facilities, administration and logistics areas, multipurpose spaces, a gym and staff amenities.
Construction is expected to begin later this year, subject to planning approval and the appointment of a building contractor.
Prestons was identified by NSW Ambulance as a priority location following detailed analysis of Triple Zero (000) demand, with the new station designed to improve emergency response times and meet the needs of one of Sydney’s fastest-growing regions.
“Our paramedics deserve facilities that match the vital work they do every day. This new station will help them continue providing the highest standard of care where it’s needed most,” Mr Hagarty said.
Health Minister Ryan Park said the project demonstrated the government’s commitment to strengthening emergency healthcare services across the state.
He said the investment would deliver “more ambulance stations, more paramedics, faster response times, and better patient outcomes,” adding that the Prestons project was “another step towards delivering a vital health service for Liverpool and south-western Sydney.”
Member for Liverpool Charishma Kaliyanda said the new station would enhance emergency care for local residents.
“When someone calls Triple Zero, every minute matters,” she said.
“This new ambulance station will help improve emergency response capability across the Liverpool area, while supporting the dedicated paramedics who work around the clock to keep us safe.”
The Prestons Ambulance Station is one of 30 new ambulance stations planned across Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Hunter and Illawarra regions, with additional stations being delivered in Raby, Prairiewood, Glendenning, Glenmore Park, the Aerotropolis and Bargo.
The project is also supported by the NSW Government’s commitment to recruit 2,500 additional NSW Ambulance staff, including 500 paramedics dedicated to rural and regional communities.
