The project to deliver a new primary school in Gregory Hills will soon have a construction partner on board with the tender released for early contractor involvement (ECI).

Member for Camden Peter Sidgreaves said he was delighted to announce this important milestone for the new primary school at Gregory Hills.

“Plans are progressing for the new primary school in Gregory Hills and I look forward to seeing the project take shape in the coming months,” Mr Sidgreaves said.

Once awarded, the construction contractor will provide valuable input on the design of the new school which will assist in reducing the construction timeline.

The school, which will be located on Gregory Hills Drive, will include fit-for-purpose learning spaces and core facilities to support the growing area and cater for approximately 1,000 students.

The community is invited to an information booth at Gregory Hills Town Centre on Wednesday 11 May from 3pm to 5pm (near Woolworths) to ask questions and learn more about the project.

Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) methodology, an innovative design and construction process which combines off-site manufacture and on-site assembly that is sustainable and delivers schools quickly and safely, will be used to construct the school in the same way that Barramurra Public School was constructed.

The request for Secretary’s Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARS) is expected to be lodged to the Department of Planning and Environment soon.
