For the very first time, the eight Rotary clubs of Macarthur will come together to recognise first responders in both paid and volunteer positions for their professional excellence and dedication.

The clubs of Camden, Campbelltown, Gregory Hills Next-Gen, Ingleburn, Macarthur Sunrise, Narellan, Picton and Wollondilly North will host the Rotary Clubs of Macarthur First Responders Awards at Wests on the 5th of April 2023.

Macarthur’s Rotarians are well known for conducting the annual police awards which have become a prestigious event on the local force’s calendar.

“We are aware that personnel from all other emergency services deserve to be acknowledged just as much as the police, and we are certainly looking forward to many nominations for this inaugural event”, said Ingleburn Rotary’s Barry Woolfe.

The whole community is being called on to nominate deserving members of Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW Sate Emergency Service and St John’s Ambulance.

A panel of judges will assess nominees on the following key criterion: Community service over and above the call of normal duties, which best exemplifies Rotary’s motto of ‘Service above self’.

And a Macarthur First Responder of the Year will be named in both volunteer and salaried categories!

All the winners will automatically go forward as nominees for the respective category in the State awards program – Rotary Emergency Services Community Awards (RESCA).
