Prestons residents can now recycle their eligible bottles, cans and cartons closer to home, with a new Return and Earn machine opening at HomeCo Prestons.
“I’m pleased to see this new Return and Earn machine opening in Prestons, making it easier for local families to recycle while putting a little extra money back in their pockets,” said Member for Leppington Nathan Hagarty.
Located at 1985 Camden Valley Way, the new return point is the 15th in the Liverpool local government area and features the latest “takes-all” technology, allowing recyclers to return glass, plastic and aluminium containers through any chute without pre-sorting.
“This new return point gives residents another convenient way to recycle, reduce waste and support local charities and community groups through container donations,” Hagarty said.
“Small actions like these make a real difference for our environment and our community.”
Users receive a 10-cent refund for every eligible container, with the option to redeem vouchers at Woolworths, transfer funds directly to a bank or PayPal account via the Return and Earn app, or donate refunds to more than 600 charities and community groups, including the current statewide partner, The Smith Family.
Since launching in 2017, Return and Earn has helped raise more than $100 million for charities and community organisations through container donations and return point hosting fees.
