After years of community frustration and long trips to neighbouring suburbs, Campbelltown residents will soon have access to a new Service NSW Centre, with the NSW Government confirming it will open at Macarthur Square Shopping Centre.
The announcement comes as a major win for the community, which has long campaigned for the return of local government services following the closure of the former RMS office.
“This is an incredible outcome that our community has fought so hard for,” Member for Campbelltown Greg Warren said.
“The previous government should never have taken away our former RMS office, and I am proud to be a part of a government which is bringing back this essential service.”
Located on Level 2 of Macarthur Square, the new centre will provide access to more than 1,300 NSW Government services and transactions, restoring a vital service hub for one of Sydney’s fastest-growing regions.
The new centre will feature 14 customer service counters, self-service digital kiosks, computer testing facilities and dedicated meeting spaces for booked appointments.
Driver testing services will also be available from the centre, alongside existing testing facilities at Macquarie Fields.
Warren added that the central location would make accessing government services significantly easier for local residents.
“This central location with significant public transport access means that all Campbelltown residents will have convenient access to government support at their local Service NSW — something that our community has been crying out for,” he said.
The centre will serve residents across Campbelltown and surrounding suburbs including Ambarvale, Appin, Bradbury, Leumeah and Menangle Park, complementing existing Service NSW centres at Edmondson Park and Gregory Hills.
Making the announcement this morning at Macarthur Square in the presence of Member for Leppington Nathan Hagarty, Minister for Customer Service Jihad Dib said the new facility would ensure essential services were once again available close to home.
“This is great news for the people of Campbelltown who will no longer have to travel to neighbouring areas to access vital government services,” he said.
“Securing this location means we’re bringing those services back to the heart of the community, close to public transport, shops and other essential services.”
Whether residents are renewing a licence, sitting a driver test or accessing a range of government support services, the new centre is designed to deliver a more convenient and modern customer experience.
The project forms part of the NSW Government’s $13.6 million investment to improve Service NSW facilities across the state.
Work is expected to begin in the coming months, with the new Campbelltown Service NSW Centre scheduled to open later this year.
