Casula High School captain Tajana Terzic has been named a finalist for Western Sydney Young Woman of the Year, recognising the 17-year-old’s contribution to youth leadership, advocacy and civic engagement.

The South West Sydney student is a finalist in the 2026 Western Sydney Women Awards, celebrating women making an impact across the region.

Tajana has represented Australia and NSW in public speaking and been involved in debating, Model United Nations, youth democracy initiatives and advocacy, while also serving as Vice President of Girl Up Australia.

“I was incredibly excited and grateful when I found out I had been named a finalist,” Tajana said.

“My involvement in public speaking, debating, Model United Nations, youth democracy and advocacy has given me opportunities to find my voice, but more importantly, to use that voice to create opportunities for other young people.

“I have always believed that young people should not simply be spoken about in conversations about our future; we should be given the opportunity to participate in them.”

The Western Sydney Women Awards were created by Western Sydney Women founder Amanda Rose to spotlight the achievements of women across Western Sydney.

“The passion and drive of Western Sydney women never ceases to amaze me,” Rose said.

For Tajana, being recognised alongside other women from the region makes the honour particularly special.

“Being recognised as a finalist is especially meaningful as Western Sydney is home to so many young women who are already making a difference in their schools, communities, workplaces and beyond,” she said.

Finalists will be celebrated at the Western Sydney Women Awards and Summit on November 2, 2026, at the Hudson Hotel & Events Centre.
