Riding for the Disabled (RDA) celebrated its Golden Jubilee in style last week at Government House Sydney and Aileen Davis had the pleasure of representing Wollondilly RDA.
“It was a marvellous day of catching up with so many wonderful friends and meeting Her Excellency Honourable Margaret Beazley & Mr Dennis Wilson,” she said.
“I stood up as Her Excellency arrived and she said no sit down please.”
“Mr Wilson then came and sat with me and it was so lovely chatting to him.”
RDA (NSW) is a volunteer organisation providing equine assisted activities for people
with disabilities to develop and enhance abilities.
90-year-old Aileen has been part of the RDA NSW since its beginning and is a life member.
Wollondilly RDA is 36 years old and has disabled children coming from 4 different schools around the Macarthur fortnightly to its centre.
They also have other disabled riders who come monthly for a ride, including Aileen.
