Mountain bikers have a new playground in Campbelltown, with the first stage of the Kanbyugal Mountain Bike Trail Network now open at Woodbine.
Ten new trails have opened at Kanbyugal Reserve, giving riders of different ages and abilities a fresh place to get outdoors, test their skills and hit the dirt.
“We’re really pleased to be able to open the first stage of the Kanbyugal Mountain Bike Trail Network ahead of schedule and give residents the chance to get onto the trails sooner than expected,” Campbelltown Mayor Cr Darcy Lound said.
The opening marks completion of Stage 1, with riders able to enjoy the network before an even bigger second stage gets underway next year.
Member for Campbelltown Greg Warren said the new trails added another major outdoor attraction for local residents.
“The new trail network gives locals another reason to get outdoors, be active and enjoy everything our community has to offer, and I’m looking forward to seeing riders of all ages making the most of this fantastic new facility,” Warren said.
Stage 2 will add more than 18 trails and riding experiences, dedicated car parking, better connections between tracks and supporting facilities.
Once completed, the Kanbyugal network will boast more than 13km of trails.
Construction of Stage 2 is expected to begin in 2027.
Stage 1 was funded by the NSW Government through the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program.
