Camden’s next generation of performers is ready to step up, with tickets now on sale for Camden Shorts, a Youth Week showcase set to bring the Camden Civic Centre to life on Sunday 19 April from 2pm.
The event promises a lively afternoon of young local talent, with audiences set to enjoy everything from dance and poetry to classical music, musical theatre, and solo and duo performances.
Mayor of Camden Cr Therese Fedeli said the event was a celebration of youth creativity and a chance for emerging artists to be seen and heard.
“Camden Shorts is all about celebrating the creativity, passion and talent of our young people,” she said.
Fedeli described the showcase as an important platform for new performers, adding, “This showcase gives local performers the opportunity to step into the spotlight, often for the first time, and share their stories and skills with the community.”
She said events like Camden Shorts did more than entertain, helping unite the community while backing young artists at a crucial stage of their creative journey.
“Events like this not only support our young creatives but also bring our community together to champion the next generation of artists,”bFedeli said.
Tickets are $10, with limited seating available. Residents are being urged to book early and get behind Camden’s rising stars before the curtain goes up.
